Janice Combs is speaking out following the release of Netflix’s new four-part docuseries Sean Combs: The Reckoning, and she’s not holding back!
In a statement shared with Deadline, Janice says the series is filled with “lies,” “inaccuracies,” and “fake narratives” that paint a distorted picture of her son’s upbringing and their family dynamic
Crossed Lines
According to Janice, one claim in the series pushed her to respond publicly. The documentary includes commentary from Kirk Burrowes, a former friend and business associate of Diddy, who alleges he once witnessed the music mogul slap his own mother on the day of the tragic 1991 City College stampede.
Janice calls the accusation deeply offensive and “completely fabricated,” noting that the trauma of that day makes the claim even more disturbing.
Janice Demands a Public Retraction
Janice says the documentary intentionally leans into sensationalism, choosing shock value over verified truth. She argues that the creators included narratives they knew were misleading, ultimately harming her character and damaging her family’s legacy.
She is now calling for a full public retraction, urging Netflix and included producers to correct what she calls gross misrepresentations.
Firm Denial of Burrowes’ Claims
In her statement, Janice flatly denies Burrowes’ account, calling it “inaccurate and patently false.” She emphasizes that she refuses to sit quietly while falsehoods are circulated to millions, categorizing it as documentary storytelling.
Noir Nation, we’ll continue tracking reactions to the docuseries and any further responses from the Combs family or Netflix.
