Louisiana State Police are standing by their investigation, describing late LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy’s driving as “reckless” continously insisting he caused a fatal crash back in December that claimed the life of a 78-year-old man!

⚡ Police Stand by Investigation

According to reports from ABC News, earlier this year back in April an investigator in District Attorney Kristine Russell from the office of Lafourche Parish, highlighted issues of inconsistencies regarding Louisiana State Police investigation.

“The report provided to this office by Louisiana State Police has several inconsistencies which were used to base their opinion and conclusion of the crash.”

In response, the District Attorney’s Office stated, “we cannot comment on the District Attorney’s investigation, as we were not part of that process,” a spokesperson for the Louisiana State Police told ABC News on Thursday. “Louisiana State Police stands by the findings of its crash investigation, which relied on Troopers’ specialized training, eyewitness accounts, video evidence, and physical evidence to determine contributing factors. Those findings were forwarded to the Lafourche Parish District Attorney’s Office.”

Earlier this month, Kyren’s family attorney, Matt Ory, released video evidence challenging the official narrative. The footage reportedly shows that Kyren’s green Dodge Charger never actually hit another vehicle–also highlighting multiple inconsistencies in authorities’ investigation. Ory pointed out, “He’s 72.6 yards behind the vehicles at the time of impact. Key word, behind the vehicles. That is not how this story was ever painted. Never.” He insists this evidence exonerates Kyren from direct responsibility.

⚖️ Legal Struggles and Tragic Outcome

Kyren faced charges including felony negligent homicide, hit-and-run, and reckless driving. His case was still moving through the legal system as he was scheduled to face a Grand Jury. The 24 year tragically died by suicide in April following a police chase in Texas. Kyren’s sudden death has left his family as well as his fans devestated.
