More money; more problems!
Word on the street is, everyone’s favorite guy #LilNasX is in the midst of facing some serious legal issues, after failing to obtain clearance for a song sample.
Reports from #TMZ have confirmed that X is currently facing a lawsuit for $ 25 million dollars worth of damages for sampling elements of a song titled “ Carry On “ by Bobby Caldwell with out legal permission. Sources have indicated that a copy write lawsuit has been filed by a company named Music Force.
The lawsuit states X used parts of the 1983 record for his own rendition without clearance, uploaded the song onto multiple streaming platforms such as SoundCloud, Spotify and YouTube. X has received over 4 million views combined through these platforms for the song. The suit also named Sony responsible for not making sure their artist obtained proper clearance for the track.
Despite the bad news X is currently creating history with his chart topping single Old Town Road, which is currently tied for the longest running number one song on the Billboard charts!
