Noir Nation, Authorities have revealed new footage showing the Atlanta home where escaped inmate Derrick Groves allegedly hid for nearly five months after breaking out of a New Orleans jail earlier this year!

it’s finally done—the last of the 10 inmates who escaped from Orleans Parish Jail in May has been caught. Derrick Groves, 28, was found hiding in a cramped crawl space beneath a southwest Atlanta home after nearly five months on the run. Law enforcement described the capture as tense but thankfully no one was hurt during the standoff.

🛠️ Life in Hiding

As we previously reported Derrick was discovered inside an Atlanta home earlier this week by authorities following a wild ride of ducking local police. Newly released footage shows not only how he was living but also how we was able to successfully stay under the radar for months. The basement looking area had been scattered with with children’s shoes, clothing, a firearm and roughly 15 pounds of marijuana reports AP News, Fox 8.

💥 The Toilet That Started It All

Derrick had been serving time for second-degree murder and two counts of attempted second-degree murder for killing two men during Mardi Gras 2018. The May breakout shocked the city: with videos online showing ten inmates running fully speed from Orleans Parish Jail. Authorities confirmed that the men removed a toilet from the wall in order to escape.

While majority of the escapees were captured quickly, Derrick took the crown in securing the title of being the last man standing. Instantly making headlines and growing a fan-base online that kept the timeline buzzing and group chats popping.
