The folks of AP News have issued another apology to Babyface following a viral incident during the Grammys red carpet where he was tossed to the side for another artist!

“We are deeply sorry for cutting our interview with Babyface short on our YouTube livestream of the Grammys red carpet,” reads a shared statement from the outlet on Instagram and Twitter(X). “We have apologized to him through his representative and to our viewers on the livestream.”

As we previously reported two AP entertainment reporters went viral across social media on Sunday, February 2nd during the Grammys Red Carpet segment while Leslie Ambriz and Krysta Fauria were seen in the outlet’s livestream speaking with Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds. Within their interview, the super producer and legendary songwriter were cut off mid-sentence as the two women moved to speak with music artist Chappell Roan.

Fauria can be seen leaning to the side as she shouts over Babyface to motion Roan over.

In response, Babyface smiled as he stepped aside to say, “Go do that,” while handing over a microphone.

As the incident continued to trend online, both journalists addressed the controversial moment in a follow-up post to social media. ā€œI’m really sorry about interrupting Babyface earlier,ā€ Fauria said, standing alongside Ambriz and another AP journalist, Gary Gerard Hamilton. ā€œChappell Roan had come up and there was a lot of commotion, as there is on these carpets.ā€

Both reporters as well as AP News continued to get dragged online as social media users called them out for disrespecting Babyface and his countless contributions to the music industry.

However, in a forwarded statement issued on Monday, Babyface reflected on attending this year’s Grammys choosing to focus on his favorite moments.

ā€œThe best part of the night was reconnecting with old friends, meeting new artists, and feeling all the love in the room,ā€ he said. ā€œThat’s what I’ll remember. That’s what it’s really about. Music is bigger than any one moment. Much love to everyone who won and everyone out here making great music.ā€
