Cousins! Residents of a New York City Housing development in The Bronx share that they have sadly gone over six weeks without access to water!

Adams Houses resident Sabion Allen has come forward to speak on his long-standing frustration with the housing development. “It’s an ongoing thing. I can’t wash my dishes, mop my floor, clean my bathroom, flush my toilet. I can’t do anything.”

Sabion tells News 12 The Bronx, that he and his teenage daughter live on the 15th floor of his building and that they had originally begun experiencing issues with the water during the Thanksgiving holiday. He states the living conditions have grown worse.

Sabion details that residents who live on higher floors of his building are forced to travel down to the 12th floor each day to fill up large, empty gallons of water to take back up to their apartments.

He explains that the water pressure on the 12th floor is high as opposed to the higher floors which residents are experiencing no water pressure at all during this time.

“We are working with the assigned vendor to locate and repair leaks underground while exploring a potential solution to improve water pressure for affected residents in the meantime,” reads statement from the New York City Housing Authority to News 12 The Bronx.

There is currently a water station available for resident-use on Westchester Avenue between buildings 2 and 3.”

Sources state that residents have communicated that they are currently dealing with extremely low water pressure or no water at all.

New York Housing Authority has advised residents to contact the customer contact center at 718-707-7771.
