Cousins, the MTA has experienced a second subway derailment in New York City within the last week!

The incident occurred on Tuesday, January 10th, as the subway track which runs above West 6th Street between 8th Street and Neptune Avenue stations around noon, reports ABC News.

Sources state that a total of 37 people including passengers and employees within an hour. Thankfully no injuries were reported.

It has been stated the derailment was not immediately confirmed. Transit officials confirmed afterward that a rail car that was recently set in place, is currently being investigated.

A spokesperson for the MTA says that they are actively working to get the train back on track.

“The train just shook, and it went up on its side, so that’s what it felt like. So, I knew right away it was a derailment. I’ve never experienced it before, but it was obvious,” said a passenger on the F train Gregory Perelshteim.

There are currently limited shuttle bus services set in place between Avenue X and Coney Island-Stilwell Avenue in both directions.

As we previously reported over two dozen people were injured last week following the derailment of a NO. 1 train in Manhattan on Thursday.

“Look, we’ll get to the bottom of this. I realize that we had issues, obviously, last week, as well, and we’ll get to the bottom of whatever this is. But at this point, from the incident we had last week and derailment today, don’t seem like they’re connected at all,” said Transit Authority President Rich Davey.
