Cousins, the man seen in a viral video jumping over a court table to attack a Nevada judge during a sentencing hearing has now been charged with attempted murder!
According to CNN, a newly filed criminal complaint, Debora Redden is currently facing counts of battery on a protected person, battery of an officer, battery by a prisoner, intimidating a public officer extortion, and other charges in connection with the January 3rd attack on Judge Mary Kay Holthus during his sentencing in another case.
“Once he knew she was about to sentence him to prison, (Redden) did leap over defense counsel table into the well of the courtroom,”reads a criminal complaint.
“Thereafter rushing towards the judicial bench and jumping over it ‘superman’ style directly into Judge Mary Kay Holthus’s judicial space, landing directly on top of her and immediately attacking Judge Mary Kay Holthus by grabbing her, pulling her hair, placing his hands around her throat and/or hitting her on the head.”
Reports read that several battery charges against the thirty-year-old allegedly fought a Las Vegas officer, a clerk, and a marshal, as well as spitting on an officer.
On Monday Debora appeared before Judge Holthus to resume his initial sentencing on charges of battery with hands, mouth, and face covered. He received 19 months to four years in prison.
Debora appeared in court on Tuesday, January 9th in front of a new judge for a preliminary hearing.
As we previously reported, the viral incident occurred last week after Debora alongside his attorney requested probation rather than jail time.
He also stated that he had plans of changing his life and making better choices.
“I appreciate that,” the judge replied, “but I think it’s time that he get a taste of something else because – I just can’t, with that history.”
Moments later, Debora screamed, “F**k that b*tch!” as he than ran toward judge Holthus.
Debora is scheduled to appear in court on February 14th for the new charges.
