A recent announcement from the Justice Department confirms that they will not be pursing Federal charges or Civil Rights charges against Kenosha Police Officer Rusten Sheskey following his direct involvement in the brutal shooting of Jacob Blake!

The incident took place a little over a year ago on August 23, 2020 as police officials responded to a call of a domestic violence dispute. Shesky arrived on the scene as an responding officer. He opened fire shortly after confronting Jacob and shot the father multiple times in front of his children.

Jacob, a melanated man was left paralyzed from the waist down and must now pick up the pieces of his life. The tragic incident lead to a furthermore widespread of protesters.

Jacob admitted that day to officers he did have a knife. The weapon was later found on the floor of his vehicle, not in his hands while forcibly resisting arrest, as insisted by the union representing the officer.

According to the NYTimes, the lawyer for the paralyzed mechanical student and his family, Ben Crump, rejected this notion. He added that Mr. Blake was breaking up a dispute between two women when police arrived. Video captured the moment Mr. Blake was shot in the back.

The end result? The police department supports their officer’s actions by stating, “the evidence is insufficient to prove Sheskey willfully used excessive force” as reported by CNN.

Cousins do you feel the officer should have been held accountable in this case?
