Legendary actress and millennial it girl Raven Symone has been in the spot light for over three decades. Contrary to most public figures she’s been successful with keeping the details to her personal life completely under wraps, it wasn’t until nearly one year ago Raven took to social media to share what she deems one of the happiest days of her life, revealing that she tied the knot with the love of her life Miranda Maday!

Raven and Miranda have willing allowed fans to take a peak into their world by sharing their day to day lives apart of their newly launched YouTube series 8PM. Together the ladies share complexities of their marriage through lifestyle content, healthy recipes, travel vlogs, laughs and lots of love.

We had the pleasure of kicking it with both ladies within a joint interview where they both spoke candidly about the very beginnings of their relationship and former uncertainties that helped their love grow stronger.

Originally meeting in 2015, Raven revealed that she had initially ended things with Miranda prior to them officially exchanging vows.

“I’ll be honest, it was kind of a self-inflicted, old way of thinking that the black community would be mad that I was dating a white person. It was this residual thought process that really wasn’t fact. And so I didn’t kow how to communicate that with her.” Raven explained.

Raven says that she broke up with Miranda because she initially had a hard time communicating exactly how she felt. Miranda revealed that she didn’t initially know that Raven was struggling with uncertainties of how their union would be perceived. But she didn’t ignore Raven’s reality and took the time to communicate and understand

Within being a household name, Raven-Symoné received numerous comments about her marriage on social media. We asked how does she handle it so gracefully, “I learned a long time ago not to really read the comments, not to really give in to every single person’s opinion that decides to comment. I like Instagram, it’s fun, it’s great. But as soon as my phone shuts down, I shut it down. I used to really take the bait in the earlier stages of social media when I was first starting. But in regards to my family and how I choose to move forward with my private life, it’s nobody’s d*** business, so I don’t really care about your opinion.”

Thankfully the two found their way back to one another in deciding that they weren’t going to live their lives for others.

They originally wed in 2020 at iconic actress and hall of fame dancer Debbie Allen’s garden within a private and intimate ceremony.

Raven captioned a viral picture from that day that read, “I got married to a woman who understands me from trigger to joy, from breakfast to midnight snack, from stage to home. I love you Mrs. Pearman-Maday! …!!! I’s married NOW.”

Raven and Miranda are building a platform organically where they naturally answer all of their fans, supporters and even naysayers misconceptions about them within their own reality by living unapologetically.

“But I appreciate you following us. And please, have your opinions in the comments and start a conversation. Ultimately that’s what it is. We understand we’re putting our life on display for you to judge, but I’m not gonna read your judgment because trust me, I be under the comments under a different name judging people’s relationships the same way. ”

Raven speaks on living a healthier lifestyle and how marriage has helped her by making major and necessary changes alongside Miranda that supports her every step of the way.

The couple shares that sugar is the unforeseen enemy and even took the time to answer numerous fans questions about beneficial foods to consume in order to live a healthier lifecycle including purple sweet potatoes.

We asked what are their future plans as of right now after celebrating their first year of marriage and if they wanted children.

“I’m trying to have a real honeymoon. We didn’t really get a real honeymoon…Until we actually have a honeymoon. But yes, we do want children, we do want a family, we are working towards that when we’re not on YouTube and building our brand. It is definitely going to happen. The thing is, were lesbians, we can plan it. There’s no surprise over here. So, we’re good.”
