Police brutality victim Jacob Blake has officially taken his very first steps, a year later after being shot a total of 7 times in front of his children by Kenosha officials leaving him paralyzed from the waist down!

The tragic incident took place on August 23rd, 2020 and according to the Daily Mail Jacob, 30 began to take his first steps on August. 23, 2021 during his son’s birthday party.

In a recent interview he shared that his healing process had been slow and that he endured a lot of physical, emotional and mental pain.

Throughout months of rehabilitation Jacob reveals that he underwent depression and anxiety to the point he wasn’t excited about the progress he has made so far.

“Yeah, I’m here, and yeah I’m about to be walking, but I really don’t feel like I have survived because it could happen to me again,” he says. “I have not survived until something has changed.”

Jacob recalled an incident from last month, during the Fourth of July weekend and all of the fireworks. He says that while he was in Chicago with relatives, he contacted 911 in what he explained to be an anxiety attack

“I’m hearing these booms and it’s not scaring me because I got shot, it’s scaring me because all of those people have gotten shot so every time a boom went off, I’m kind of imagining people dying,” Jacob says.
