The original Bad Gal, #Rihanna has recently pledged a total of $5 million dollars through her nonprofit foundation to help fight #Coronavirus !
According to CNN News, Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation founded in 2012 and named in honor of her grandparents, made the official announcement Saturday afternoon.
“When we first began this year, never could we have imagined how (the coronavirus) would so dramatically alter our lives. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from, this pandemic will affect us all. And for the world’s most vulnerable, the worst may be yet to come.”
Sources have confirmed that the money was donated to multiple organizations such as Direct Relief, Feeding America, Partners in Health, The World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, the International Rescue Committee and many others.
It has been indicated that the money will go towards the funding of local food banks, medical testing centers in locations like Hati and Malawi; while also providing equipment for healthcare workers.
