The Georgia Court of Appeals has ruled that District Attorney Fani Willis must be removed from participating in the 2020 election case against Donald Trump!

This decision comes in reverse to a trial judge’s initial ruling which allowed Fani to remain on the case.

According to CNN, Trump alongside numerous allies was charged in 2023 by Fulton County Prosecutors for his alleged handlings in attempting to overturn votes in Georgia regarding the 2020 election. Trump has pleaded not guilty.

“While we recognize that an appearance of impropriety generally is not enough to support disqualification, this is the rare case in which disqualification is mandated and no other remedy will suffice to restore public confidence in the integrity of these proceedings,” reads court documents obtained by CNN.

“We cannot conclude that the record also supports the imposition of the extreme sanction of dismissal of the indictment.”

Sources state that Fani will continue to fight to remain on the case. Her team has since requested the state’s Supreme Court to review the appeals court’s decision.
