Cousins please join us in sending our deepest prayers and condolences to the family and friends of beloved South African rapper Costa Titch following reports that he has passed away over the weekend!
According to CNN the 28 year old fell over mid performance while on stage at Ultra Festival. Circulated cellphone footage show’s the rapper initial fall as he is then lifted up. He then stands up and continues to try to push through the performance and then collapsed several seconds later.
Sadly, Costa, real name Constantinos Tsobanoglou was confirmed dead hours later.
News of Costa’s death was declared on his verified Instagram page of 626K followers by his family in a heavy post.
“It is with deep pain that we find ourselves having to acknowledge his passing at this time,” reads the issued statement. “We are thankful for those emergency responders and all those present in his last hours.”
“Costa was a galvanizing voice amongst South Africa’s amapiano scene — a talented rapper, dancer, singer, songwriter, collaborator and friend to the festival.”
The post does not pinpoint his cause of death.
As per CNN, Costa was on the rise of becoming one of the biggest rappers coming out of South Africa. His artistry belonged to the music genre of amapiano, described as deep house, log-drum driven basslines paired with soulful piano melodies.
He had also recently linked up with Senegal native musician and entrepreneur Akon.

He was a brilliant superstar and hardworking man with a kind heart which endeared him to all around him.”
“I remember when Babs played me his record for the first time. I was convinced that he was going to make an impact in this world. Costa Titch had a vision that I knew for sure would take over the music industry globally and was on his way to doing just that when god’s plan intervened. It’s been a sad day but what
makes me feel better is that I know he died doing what he loved doing the most in this world.
