‘Dr.Phil’ Daytime Talk Show Coming To An End After 21 Seasons; “I’m Moving On From Daytime”

Cousins! The popular daytime talk show ‘Dr. Phil’ hosted Phil McGraw is officially wrapping up this year as circulated reports confirm the show’s final airing date is scheduled to end within its 21st season!

According to People magazine, the official decision was made by Phil himself as his 2018 contract with CBS media ventures has officially fulfilled it’s five year agreement. The network is scheduled to air previously tapped episodes for the 2023-2024 season.

“I have been blessed with over 25 wonderful years in daytime television,” Phil said in a issued statement to PEOPLE.

“With this show, we have helped thousands of guests and millions of viewers through everything from addiction and marriage to mental wellness and raising children. This has been an incredible chapter of my life and career, but while I’m moving on from daytime, there is so much more I wish to do.”

It has been indicated by CBS media ventures that Phil is taking further strides towards prime time television including other business ventures. He already has two successful podcasts titled ‘Phil in the Blanks’ and Mystery & Murder: Analysis by Dr. Phil. Phil also has a new project scheduled to launch this year a , “strategic primetime partnership” that will help him “increase his impact on television and viewers.”

He continues, “I am compelled to engage with a broader audience because I have grave concerns for the American family, and I am determined to help restore a clarity of purpose as well as our core values.”

Reports read that ‘Dr Phil’ originally debut in 2002 officially airing nearly 4,000 released episodes with over 20,000 featured guests and a fanbase of 5 million viewers.

‘Dr. Phil’ ‘s overall performance has allowed the show to earn the no. 2 highest-rated daytime show position, currently averaging over 2 million viewers.

Social media users also took to Twitter sharing their thoughts of the daytime talk show coming to an end.

“If the #DrPhil show ends, ain’t gon be no hope for nobody. Hopefully he continues to help ppl that really need it. I’ve been watching since it first aired. @DrPhil,” reads a tweet.

“DrPhil Oh dear God no. I thought he was going. Just some bullshit PR,” reads another tweet.
