Chris Brown Receives Mixed Reviews Surrounding His First UK Performance In 12 Years After Being Banned Due To Domestic Violence Incident!

Chris Brown performed at his first UK event for the first time in over a decade since being banned from the country following his violent assault on former girlfriend and Fenty CEO, Rihanna!

According to the Daily Mail, the singer was added to the roster for Crystal Palace and Birmingham shows in a surprise announcement by the festival on May 25th. “You asked? We deliver… ALWAYS,” reads a tweet from the event’s official Twitter account. “For the first time in 12 years… @chrisbrown will return to the UK to shut down Crystal Palace and Birmingham.”

The No Guidance singer took the stage at Wireless Music Festival in London on July 1st, receiving a strong reaction from the online community.

Many people criticized the organizers and Brown’s fans who supported his return to the UK.

 “If you’re planning on watching Chris Brown at Wireless you may as well just say you hate women with your chest,” wrote one.

Another commented, “Not Wireless bragging on their TikTok that Rihanna turned up. You guys had Chris Brown playing are u not ashamed?”

The backlash started when it was announced that the ‘Loyal’ singer had been added to the lineup.


However, others were happy to see him back in the country performing, one fan wrote: “Chris Brown back in UK after 12 years performing at Wireless festival, my baby was so happy I’m so proud of him.”

Last year fans suspected the ban had been lifted, as Chris appeared on stage at the O2 Arena alongside Nigerian artist Wizkid during his performance in November.

Back in 2010, Brown was publicly banned from stepping foot back into the UK after he was arrested for assaulting Rihanna after the Grammys.

The then couple got into an argument while Brown was driving his Lamborghini, which led to her

suffering from multiple injuries, including a split lip and a bruised eye. Brown was charged with a felony assault and for making criminal threats.

He pleaded guilty to a felony and accepted a plea deal of community labour, five years’ probation and domestic violence counselling.

In a statement at the time of his UK ban, the Home Office said: “We reserve the right to refuse entry to the UK to anyone guilty of a serious criminal offence.

“Public safety is one of our primary concerns.”
