A former St.Louis employee has recently pleaded guilty to one count of identity theft after falsely forwarding racist rejection emails to potential job applicants.
#TheGrio reports that the Mantality clinic owner has identified former employee Cristopher Crivolio, 47 as the direct source behind the incident. Crivolio used the facility’s Indeed profile to issue racist rejection letters to multiple applicants he deemed as having ghetto names. Sources have indicated that these emails were forwarded to mainly black women back in August of 2018.
It has been indicated that The U.S. Attorney’s Office stated in a press conference that Crivolio issued those emails falsely identifying himself as another employee of the clinic.
“Without the knowledge of the company.”
Dorneisha Zachery; a victim of the incident has come forward and shared details of the occurrence with local news. Zachery states the email made her feel as if they “looked at my name and said we don’t care about what you’ve done in life.” Since receiving that email she has filed a lawsuit against Mantality Health; however since Crivolio has been revealed as the culprit status of the suit has been left unclear.
The messages forwarded have been identified as fraudulent; Crivolio appeared to have been signing off the messages as if they were sent by a Nurse Practioner at the clinic. Which resulted in a large amount of harassing emails from angry applicants.
“At no point in time had the employee, or anyone at Mantality Health, authorized Crivolio to use the employee’s identity or to send the communications purporting to be on behalf of Mantality Health,” states the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Reports read that Crivolio is currently facing five years in prison and a fine within the amount of $250,000. He is set to appear in court on November 7 for sentencing.
