Cousins!
Have you ever considered investing in cryptocurrency or maybe you already have investments in crypto? Well, someone hacked the internet and made over $24 million in crypto!
There is currently a public case involving a the 17-year-old boy who folks are referring to as the “Baby Al Capone” of Crypto.
Ellis Pinsky began his cryptocurrency scheme years before, at the age of 13. He stole cryptocurrency from other people’s accounts, pulled off a heist that made him over $23.8 million, which is one of the largest cryptocurrency hacks ever. He went on to learn on his own how to do distribution denial of service, attacks, and flooding servers online. He did this so much he overwhelmed the systems and they shut down, That’s when the FBI began to catch wind of him.
Ellis is said to have spent a large lump some of his hacking money and investments on luxury. He spent $50,000 in bitcoin on a Patek Philippe watch and once cashed out $100,000 in cash from a $40 Amazon safe in his home. He and his mother also went on a trip by private jet. At age 16, he drove an Audi that he claims his family let him drive.
He shared the wealth with his classmates, offering them Uber rides from school to his new luxury high-rise apartment.
According to Rolling Stone, Ellis went as far as to use unusual usernames online. He learned about the cyber world and caused major chaos, creating different alliances leveling up the “criminal hierarchy” . He learned so much technical information and hacked so many accounts, even the accounts of the prestige. He got so skilled at his illegal activities that he was able to hack an account in minutes.
In cyberspace, Ellis was very popular, people would reach out to him and ask for hacking favors. He once hacked a AT&T phone account for a user.
However, all good things come to an end, one night in May of 2020 an unknown man broke into his suburban residence entering the basement, setting off the alarms. Ellis grabbed his shotgun for protection and met his mother in the hallway preparing for what was next. Two weeks prior to the person breaking in, he had a lawsuit filed against him. Circulating stories made the news about him in connection to the internet hacks. With that type of money, you know people are going to want in. Thieves wanted a piece, and he was now targeted, they wanted the money that he did not have. People began to extort him. He spent the money and only had what was left hidden in his mother’s Ugg boots.
Eventually he was charged with cryptocurrency theft. However recent reports confirm that Ellis has not been criminally charged — partly because he was a minor, but also because of his cooperation with law enforcement.
According to reports But filing a civil suit, crypto investor Michael Terpin wants to be compensated with triple the amount stolen, arguing that the teenager who robbed him was running an organized crime racket and that he should be heavily punished to set an example.
