Cousins!

Growing up as kids the scholastic book fair was like the Disney World of literature. We all have so many memories of the countless books and different genres that just made us so happy and extremely excited every time the fair rolled into our schools. That’s a feeling that every kid deserves to have honestly, the joy of learning!

We are pleased to announce that the good folks of the ever growing popular series Abbott Elementary are giving back in a major way. They’ve teamed up with Scholastic books alongside the ABC network to offer free book fairs to underfunded schools around the country.

According to People Magazine, a total of six elementary schools will be able to attend free of cost book fairs. Each student will be able to take home two free books each. Teachers are allowed to take 10, in efforts of helping to stock their classroom shelves.

The list of participating schools include Philadelphia’s Harrity Elementary, Diehl Elementary in Erie, Pa., Bond Elementary in Chicago, Dayton’s Bluff Elementary in Minneapolis, Freeman Elementary in Flint, Mich. and Cortada Elementary and Florence Griffith Joyner Elementary in Los Angeles, according to Variety.

“Our mission at Scholastic has always been to support teachers and provide them with the resources and materials needed to build warm, positive classroom experiences for their students. That’s why we are so thrilled to team up with ABC and Abbott Elementary — a show dedicated to uplifting educators and reflecting their experiences — to put books into the classrooms that need them most and get kids excited about reading and learning,” saidsenior vice president of creative development at Scholastic Billy DiMichele.

All book fairs will take place between March 14 and 18.
