Reality superstar and mogul Kim Kardashian is making money moves and adding on to her already thriving empire with her popular shape wear brand of SKIMS!
In a recent report, the shape wear line has doubled its valuation to $3.2 billion after raising $240 million in a new round of funding, according to Us Weekly.
“This latest round will allow us to focus on bringing more innovations and solutions to our customers and become even more of a trusted resource for them,” the 41-year-old fashion designer said in an email.
Originally launching in 2019, SKIMS initially started out as just a shapewear brand. Fast forward to present day and the company has expanded from loungewear and underwear to luxury dresses and coats.
In November of 2021, Kim made history when she teamed up with luxury fashion house Fendi to create the “first of its kind” collaboration. The ready-to-wear- collection quickly sold out in a matter of minutes.
Recently, she announced a partnership with Team USA. The brand was named the official sponsor of the undergarments and loungewear for the Tokyo Olympics. Also, they will be providing Skims for the Winter Games. But this is not limited to athletes. Anyone can purchase it on the SKIMS website.
Now Kim confirms that she does not plan on expanding into the luxe space in the next couple of years. But she has been teasing SKIMS swimwear sharing, plenty of images via social media. I am pretty sure it will be a knock-out among consumers.
Congratulations to Kim on her latest accomplishment! I am sure there are plenty more to come. Cousins, will you be copping some SKIMS wear?
