Cousins!

When Sparkle came out and sounded the alarm on Superstar R. Kelly many moons ago, shining a spotlight on his iniquitous acts against her niece and other victims. Soon after, she was swiftly disowned by the music industry, her family, fans and she lost everything. The singer stood tall, looked injustice straight in the eye and punched it in the face!

Sparkle remembers how the world was seemingly entrigued, by the self proclaimed Pied Piper of music. People bopped their heads as the disgraced Grammy winner played his most alluring tunes and led his staunchest supporters down a noxious path. Having access to some of their underage children at will, subjecting them to sexual exploitation and many more egregious acts.

Sparkle refused to sip the Kelly Kool-Aid regardless of how powerful he was and stayed focused on sharing her truth; even when it meant losing her family and becoming homeless because it was the right thing to do.

According to YAHOO the former R Kelly protégé told the media “At the first trial, nobody believed me. I hope all the girls, boys, and women affected by him are also breathing a sigh of relief. There’s finally some justice, though we have to wait and see what the sentence is. I was the Lone Ranger at first, and now I have my riders behind me.”

Her niece, who was one of the victims in the infamous tape, is now in her 30’s with a son. She was never willing or able to repair their relationship.
