The woman who wrongfully accused Grammy Award winning Jazz trumpeter Keyon Harrold’s 14 year old son for stealing her iPhone has officially been identified and arrested!

California native Miya Ponsetto, 22 was arrested Thursday afternoon for the December 26th, 2020 incident in New York City.

As we previously reported Ponsetto now known as SoHo Karen was seen within a now viral video acting both aggressively and viciously as she shouted and charged at the black teenager within the lobby of the Arlington Hotel.

In a recent interview with Gayle King Soho Karen spoke out for the first time. She defended her behavior by saying her being alone in a city where she was visiting her family caused her to panic and that she had lost her only form of communication.

“I was approaching the people that had been exiting the hotel because in my mind, anybody exiting is probably the one, might be the one that is trying to steal my phone,” stated SoHo Karen.

“I admit, yes, I could have approached the situation differently, or maybe not yelled at him like that and made him feel, you know, maybe some sort of inferior way, making him feel as if I was, like, hurting his feelings, because that’s not my intention. I consider myself to be super sweet.”

She snapped when Gayle asked did she stop everyone in the lobby and said her actions didn’t derive from racial profiling. “Not everyone. Just the people that, in the meantime while the hotel manager was checking the footage, I just wanted to do my part.”
