Cousins! The Miami, Florida rap duo of the City Girls opened up a can of worms on social media this week as they officially released a bit of pent-up animosity towards one another!
In a series of since deleted tweets JT born Jatavia Shakara Johnson called out her fellow group member Yung Miami, Caresha Brownlee.
Though it is unclear what originally started the rift between the two ladies, both JT and Yung Miami accused one another of throwing subliminal messages aimed at one another on social media for the last couple of weeks.
“A b*tch been sneak dissing me for weeks and I ain’t say sh*t what a b*tch mad at me fa????!!!” wrote Yung Miami.
JT then responded with a retweet that read, “Oh Ms. Mama this your LAST day playing dumb.”
Further in the exchange, Yung Miami accused JT of aiming at her with sneak jabs in her two solo singles ‘No Bars’ and ‘Sideways’
“For you to come on here and try to play victim is crazy,” Yung Miami fired back.
“Jatavia you been sneak dissing me for the LAST COUPLE OF DAYS!!! I haven’t said sh*t back to you!! You made 2 whole songs DISSING ME & I STILL RAPPED your shit with my chest & showed love 🙂 so what’s the real problem here???”
She continued, “A b—h trying to kick me while I’m down and play into these narratives!. I been nothing but a friend to you!!!!! I ain’t jealous of a soul.”
JT responded with a tweet that read, “Girl, the Internet told you which songs was about you … Get your phone back from whoever this is. Baby don’t play with me!”
Though the online feud caught many by surprise, fans had suspected that there was unconfirmed tension boiling between the two regarding success in their solo careers.
Yung Miami has secured a fan base of her own in the last few years following the debut of her podcast Caresha Please, drinking game ‘Resha Roulette’, signature merch, and an expected reality television.
JT has launched her solo career in music with an upcoming project titled City Cinderella. She is currently orchestrating club appearances around the city for fans.
Thankfully the online feud between Yung Miami and JT was short-lived as they moved their exchange towards a private phone call. They shared love and support for one another on Twitter
