Facebook Seeking To Create Instagram Version For Children!

Cousins!

The social media platform of Facebook is currently within the drawing board phases of expansion as plans of an Instagram channel created specifically for children could possibly be underway!

According to USA Today, the platform will be designated for children younger than 13 years old.

Reports read that the application will be fairly similar to Facebook’s popular kid’s messenger launched in 2017, which allowed kids ages 6-12 the ability to text.

However the app had many endured issues due to the fact that kids were able to chat with unapproved adults.

Sources have confirmed that Instagram’s current policy doesn’t allow users under 13 years old to utilize their platform.

Nothing has been finalized as of yet as creators are still forwarding different ideas. A spokesperson for Facebook states that they are within the, “very early stages.”

“Increasingly kids are asking their parents if they can join apps that help them keep up with their friends. Right now there aren’t many options for parents, so we’re working on building additional products – like we did with Messenger Kids – that are suitable for kids, managed by parents,” reads a continued statement.

“We’re exploring bringing a parent-controlled experience to Instagram to help kids keep up with their friends, discover new hobbies and interests, and more.”
