Cousins!

With COVID remaining on the rise, many companies are facing an alarming and noticeable shortage of staff!

Current mayor of New York City Eric Adams, alongside his administration have fired a total of 1,531 city workers between the months of February and March for not complying to the vaccine mandate. It appears that many employees have resigned and/or lost their jobs due to the vaccination mandate, after voicing that they were against receiving the vaccine.

The city of New York has a new plan for their state regarding employment as Mayor Adam’s administration has proposed offering over hundreds of former government workers their jobs back. This rehire plan comes at a price that the workers were once adamant about.  Yes, those who did not receive the vaccine can now be rehired, only under one condition, they must receive the first vaccine dose by June 30, 2022.

A spokesman for the mayor, states “Our goal has always been vaccination, rather than termination” it is advised that this offer is their final effort to convince them to receive the vaccine to safeguard their jobs back.

The New York Daily News, reports that canned workers are not automatically rehired after the first dose of the vaccine. Canned workers are rehired once they receive the second dose of the vaccine, by August 15, 2022, and still they won’t officially get their jobs back until the series of vaccines are completed.

Former Mayor Bill de Blasio’s previous pandemic policies noticeably differ from Adam’s policie,

Mayor Adam’s has since then lifted mask requirements in public schools, and required vaccination for indoor activities, such as dining in restaurants and other indoor activities. The only policy Adam’s kept in place as the former mayor is the vaccine mandate policy for workers.

Offer letters for re-employment were sent out last weekend but not sent to Department of Education workers. It has been stated that members of the Department of Education will receive their offer letters late summer.
