Harlem Children Zone’s Peaceful March Against Gun Violence Draws Crowd Of 4,000 People!

Thousands of children gathered in the streets of #NewYorkCity recently to help spread awareness against the widely increasing issue of gun violence!

According to #FoxNews5 ; the parade was established by the non profit organization of Harlem’s Children Zone. The main objective of the March is to demand an end to gun violence.
“We understand there’s an uptick of gun violence going on in Harlem right now, we’re here today as we have been for 25 years to say ‘Not in our community,’” states Geoffrey Canada, founder of the Harlem Children’s Zone.

Reports read that the parade was originally established 25 years ago to honor the life of a little girl who was shot and killed by a stray bullet.

“So often people look at brown and black children as predators,” states Anne Williams-Isom, CEO of the Harlem Children’s Zone. “Well, we’re not predators.

It has been indicated that a total of 27% of high school and middle school students have either lost a loved one directly to violence or mainly gun violence.
