Mrs. Cornell Haynes definitely has a ring to it! Cousins, following news that she is expecting her first child with her longtime lover and friend Nelly, Ashanti has also confirmed that the St Louis rapper officially put a ring on it 👏🏿

In an exclusive interview with Essence Magazine, Ashanti expressed her excitement for the new chapter in her life from motherhood to marriage, and the genuine support she feels from her fans. “This new year of my life is such a blessing full of love, hope, and anticipation.”

“Motherhood is something that I have looked forward to, and sharing this with my family, fiancé, and loyal fans, who have been so supportive of my career, is an amazing experience.”

As we previously reported Ashanti dropped a bombshell on Instagram on Wednesday afternoon revealed that she is expecting her first child.

Within the shared twenty-seven second video clip Ashanti shared a glimpse of her life behind the scenes orchestrating a busy schedule from appearances to performances.

Her mother Tina Douglas also known as ‘The Original Momager’ steps in towards the end of the video to ask Ashanti is she ready. The video closes out with the Grammy award winning singer saying, “I’m going to need about nine months,” with a smile on her face.

The news came as no surprise to fans as social media users have speculated for months that the songstress had been hiding a baby bump under her series of jersey dresses.
