Cousins! Lizzo has broken her silence following circulated reports that she has decided to quit music!

In a post to Instagram on Tuesday, the four-time Grammy award-winning singer addressed rumors that she had decided to away from her career in music. “I wanted to make this video because I just need to clarify when I say, ‘I quit,’ I mean I quit giving any negative energy attention.”

Lizzo continued, “What I’m not going to quit is the joy of my life, which is making music and connecting to people. And I know I’m not alone. In no way, shape, or form am I the only person experiencing that negative voice that’s louder than the positive.”

“What I’m not going to quit is the joy of my life, which is making music and connecting to people. And I know I’m not alone. In no way, shape, or form am I the only person experiencing that negative voice that’s louder than the positive.”

The Texas native added, “If I can just give one person the inspiration or motivation to stand up for themselves and say they quit letting negative people, negative comments win, then I’ve done even more than I could’ve hoped for. I’m going to keep moving forward and keep being me.”

Last week Lizzo shared her frustration on Instagram within a released statement.

“I’m getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet. All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it. But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it. I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout & views… being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look… my character being picked apart by people who don’t know me and disrespecting my name

She concluded, “I didn’t sign up for this shit. I QUIT ✌🏿.”

Lizzos comments come after receiving a string of lawsuits from her former backup dancers.

As we previously reported Lizzo has been accused by former backup dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams and Noelle Rodriguez. Together they claim that they were either forced to quit or fired for unjustified reasons.

Court documents show that the women are alleging that the signer “pressured one of them to touch a nude performer at an Amsterdam club and subjected the group to an excruciating audition after leveling false accusations that they were drinking on the job.”

Lizzo has since denied the claims while also requesting a trial by jury in response to the complaints, reports Page Six.
