New York State Governor Kathy Hochul has officially announced the return of everyone’s favorite part of the pandemic ( US INCLUDED 🥴) to-go drinks!

The announcement was made within the State of Address where Kathy explained that restaurants and bars will be granted an allowance to sell alcoholic beverages to-go, reports NY Post.

The initiative was originally created at the height of the pandemic back in 2020 as a way to help restaurants maintain business. As we all know numerous establishments suffered during the shutdown where employers had to make major adjustments in order to make ends meet.

“So many small businesses are pushed to the brink,” she said. “Thousands of bars and restaurants, the soul of our neighborhoods, have had to close. For others hanging on by a thread, survival depends on whether they can create more space outdoors, a tough task during our New York winters. To help offset these costs we’ll provide a tax credit for COVID-related purchases like outdoor heating and seating.”

As of right now there hasn’t been anything finalized however it has been indicated that this move could possibly be PERMANENT. Stick with us for further details because we most definitely will keep y’all updated!
