Cousins! Jada Pinkett-Smith isn’t one to shy away from her feelings about her longtime childhood friend Tupac Shakur!

While in conversation with Rolling Out, Jada shared that she believes she and Tupac have traveled past lives together and that he was her soulmate.

“”If there is such a thing as past lives, I definitely think that Pac and I have traveled a few together.”

However, when asked if she regrets not exploring a romantic relationship with the late rapper, Jada reveals that it was impossible, for there was no chemistry between them.

“There was no chemistry between us,” Jada explained. She described their deeply rooted bond as a “friendship-love chemistry.” She went on to say that then being involved romantically was never on the table.

“It was like God made us that way,” she continued.” It was like, look, I’m going to put y’all together, right? Y’all are going to be a dynamic duo. But I’m going to tell you right now, I’m going to make it so y’all are not going to be able to get together ’cause that just wasn’t the purpose.”

Jada made headlines earlier this week as she revealed that she and Will Smith are currently separated and have been for over five years.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Jada shared that the couple had already been separated for a total of 6 years when the viral Oscars Award incident occurred.

“Why it fractured … that — that’s a lot of things … By the time we got to 2016, we were just exhausted with trying. I think we were both kind of just still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be,” she says.

The actress says that they are working on their family dynamic as they figure things out.

“We’re still figuring it out,” she said. “A lot has happened. The thing about relationships is that it’s constantly moving. Relationships are, it’s an organism. It’s its own thing. It’s constantly shifting and constantly moving. There’s a lot that’s transpired in the last two years, and so we’ve been doing some really heavy-duty work together.”
