Cousins! Tina Turner’s daughter-in-law Afida Turner has revealed her plans to take on motherhood with the use of her late husband Ronnie Turner’s sperm to help her have a baby!
In an interview with PEOPLE, the 46 year old says that Ronnie gifted her his frozen sperm just before he sadly passed away from colon cancer back in December of 2022.
“I’m going to have Ronnie’s baby!” she told the outlet on Wednesday. “If I can. I’m 46. But we’ll see.”
The French singer and actress explain that she wants to carry her child herself and undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF) before her upcoming birthday on December 22nd.
“It’s still bad because he’s not here, but what can I do?” Afida asked. “At least I will have a little one that looks like Ronnie. A monster like me and him, can you imagine?”
Afida expressed that she is still very much devastated by Ronnie’s passing. “It’s a punishment. Morning and night, I’m crying and screaming.”
Sources state that she has moved out of the Encino, California home that shared for over a decade since Ronnie’s passing. “My life in Los Angeles became a nightmare — a real nightmare,” Afida said. “That’s why I got the f—k out of there. No house, no furniture. Just my memories and Ronnie’s clothes.”
The mourning widow shared that Tina’s passing in May 2023 brought furthermore sadness into her already heavy heart.
“It was very sad that Ronnie passed, and then his mom passed six months after,” Afida said. “It is very difficult for me because people only see the music or the pictures, but I go back home and scream the names of my loved ones. [That pain] will never go away.”
Afida shares that she is actively working on healing because she had suffered from extremely dark thoughts.
“You don’t want to go through this in life. You have to talk to God, otherwise you go nuts and kill yourself,” she added. “I’m suffering, and my heart is destroyed. I’m trying not to lose my mind.
