Just when we think we’re partially getting somewhere within society, we are forced to remember the systematic oppressive government we’re dealing with.  Unfortunately the highly anticipated redesign of the $20 bill to directly honor the life and legacy of #HarrietTubman has been pushed back indefinitely!

According to #CNBC news; Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has confirmed that the design process has been delayed and no new imagery will be unveiled until the year 2028. Sources have indicated that the initial unveiling was scheduled for release upon the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment; which declared women the right to vote. Mnuchin’s response to the coincidental delay was that “The primary reason we have looked at redesigning the currency is for counterfeiting issues, based upon this, the $20 bill will now not come out until 2028. The $10 bill and the $50 bill will come out with new features beforehand.”

This come as no surprise to many of us, especially after Donald Trump displayed his lack of his excitement towards the new bill honoring Ms Tubman as “ pure political correctness.” Also suggesting the $2 bill be forwarded to honor her instead. Former  Treasury Secretary Jack Lew states; “The decision to put Harriet Tubman on the new $20 was driven by thousands of responses we received from Americans young and old.”

“I have been particularly struck by the many comments and reactions from children for whom Harriet Tubman is not just a historical figure, but a role model for leadership and participation in our democracy.”
