Young Thug Encourages Emory Law School Students To Secure A Career In Defense Following Release From Prison!

Young Thug is taking the opportunity to utilize his own legal troubles to inspire the next generation of lawyers as he advocates for students to seek a career in criminal defense!

While recently speaking at Emory Law School via FaceTime through his lawyer Brian Steel , the Atlanta rapper spoke openly about the mistakes he made in his life and how he has been granted a chance to change for the better.

“We had a situation that was daunting towards my life, and I think that the justice system could be bad,” said Young Thug. “You know, sometimes it could be bad, and you gotta always look at it, like, they’re there to put us in prison, and you guys are here to keep us from prison.”

“Brian Steel is the best person possible. He’s very pedagogical, and he should be a professor,” he added.

“I think you guys should become lawyers. I think it’s very important to help people out of the situations they’re in the best you can. I mean, what side do you wanna be on? You wanna put people in prison for mistakes? Because everybody makes mistakes, we’re human. And everybody in this classroom, you always need to know that you’re one mistake away.”

As we previously reported the 33 year old was released from prison on October 31st, after pleading guilty to gang, drug, and gun related charges within the highly publicized YSL Rico trial. Young Thug was indicted in 2022 for his alleged involvement in leading the street gang Young Slime Life.

The gang has been accused of multiple crimes including murder, drug dealing, carjacking and more.

In return Young Thug spent 900 days in jail. He was sentenced

“I know you’re talented,” said Judge Paige Reese and if you choose to continue to rap, you need to try to use your influence to let kids know that is not the way to go and that there are ways out of poverty besides hooking up with the powerful guy at the end of the street selling drugs.”

Billboard reports that Judge Paige advised Young Thug to utilize his influence to make a positive impact.
