A Florida woman has been arrested as officers investigate an incident where she is accused of pushing her 1 year old daughter out of a car!
According to an arrest warrant obtained by NBC 6 Miami News, Tasshay Mills was apprehended on charges of child abuse and neglect regarding the incident. Reports read that the incident occurred on Thursday September 12th within the area of Northwest 37th avenue and Northwest 54th Street.
A witness tells police that she was at an intersection when she discovered a young girl in the roadway.
An issued warrant details that the 29-year-old’s daughter spilled shampoo in the car and it made her angry. In response, Tasshay is said to have hit the 1-year-old multiple times and became even more angry as she cried.
Authorities state she then opened the rear door of the car to push the child out causing her to fall on the concrete.
Reports read that Tasshay then drove away abandoning the child in the middle of the road until she made a U-turn back to the area where she picked up her daughter.
A ring camera captured the entire encounter as it shows a witness holding the young girl while contacting the police.
“Hey, are you okay? It’s okay, I’m gonna sit down. Oh my God,” the woman can be heard saying in the video. “Hello? I need you to come, I need you to come.”
As the woman continues the call, Tasshay can be seen confronting her.
“I’m not giving you this baby!” the witness screamed.
“That is my baby!” the mother responded as she grabbed the baby while walking away.
“Oh my God! I need you guys to come, she f—ing snatched the baby out of my hands!” the witness says into her phone.
Another witness says that the baby had several pieces of gravel on her face and arm. The young girl is said to have begun bleeding from her head and had trouble breathing, reads the warrant.
The witness was able to snap a photo of Tasshay’s license plate which assisted officers in finding her.
NBC 6 News reports that the woman who’d been in the car with Tasshay at the time if the incident contacted local police and advised them where she could be discovered.
It has been indicated that a missing child alert was issued before the girl was found safely.
Upon officials arrival the child was taken to Jackson North Medical Center where she was checked out.
Tasshay was later questioned by detectives where she told them she’d pulled over and removed the child from the vehicle so that she could clean the seat.
According to the issued arrest warrant Tasshay was apprehended in Broward and booked into a Miami-Dade jail on Tuesday. She stood before a Miami-Dade judge on Wednesday as she was granted a $7,500 bond and appointed her a public defender.
