Cousins! Former child star Amanda Bynes has been the topic of discussion lately as fans and viewers noticed she wasn’t present for the recently released Nickelodeon documentary that exposed horrifying instances of child abuse that kid actors experienced!

According to reports from TMZ Amanda alongside her parents Rick and Lynn decided to turn down “Quiet On Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV,” producer’s request to recall their previous relationship with Nickelodeon as they confirm they didn’t have the same experiences.

Reports read that Amanda has not watched the documentary since its release earlier this month. She reportedly states that she is grateful for the opportunities the network has afforded her as it helped launch her career.

A source close to the family states that they decided to turn down an interview because they didn’t personally feel as if they had anything to contribute to the cause. It has also been confirmed that Amanda’s parents did watch the documentary and are both saddened and disturbed by the series of allegations.

‘Quiet on Set’ features various Nickelodeon alums as they reveal the toxic work culture they experienced as children. The former child stars recall instances of racism, favoritism, verbal abuse and more at the hands of the network and producer Dan Schneider.

The documentary features stories from Drake Bell, Giovonnie Samuels, Alexa Nikolas and Raquel Lee Bolleau.

Drake received an outpour of support from fans online upon revealing that he was was sexually abused at 15 years old by former dialect coach and producer Brian Peck.

Despite Amanda and her family’s claims, it has been noted that she worked very closely with Dan on multiple Nickelodeon projects including All That and The Amanda Show.

Many of the show’s alums have stated that Amanda and Dan’s relationship was weird. In separate interviews the actors state that Dan had a hand in much of Amanda’s success and that he “ushered Amanda into adulthood.”

Dan has since come forward to defend his relationship with Amanda as he has been accused of forcing her to seek emancipation from her parents years ago.

“Amanda was between the ages of 16 and 17 and she wanted to get emancipated from her parents, which was a fairly common thing with successful young actors — at least at the time,” said Dan. “She wanted [the emancipation] for herself, so she turned to her team, which included her lawyer, her agent, her manager, her publicist, me — because she included me as part of her team, thought of me that way.”

Dan continued, “We supported her, she tried to get emancipated and it ended up not working out and she didn’t.”
