Cousins! A 22-year-old man has been arrested following the senseless murder of a Chicago mother and daughter as they were fatally struck by a jeep driving full speed through a red light!
According to Fox News, the incident took place early Wednesday morning on February 14th after 42-year-old Laticha Bracero alongside her 21-year-old daughter, Alyssa Cordova attended a Drake tour stop in St Louis.
Surveillance footage shows the two women crossing the downtown located at North 18th and Olive streets, as Monte Henderson drove his Jeep Cherokee through a red light. The graphic video clip obtained from a street traffic camera shows Monte striking another vehicle within the intersection as he then fatally struck the two women.
Reports confirm that Laricha and Alyssa had traveled to St Louis from Chicago on Tuesday, February 13th to watch Drake perform a part of his ‘It’s All a Blur-Big as The What Tour.’
St. Louis officials state that Monte had run multiple red lights while driving full speed at 70 miles per hour.
“Lety was a hard working supervisor at Wintrust bank and a dedicated mother, loving sister, niece/cousin,” Michelle Del Bosque wrote on a GoFundMe campaign for the family.
“Her only child Alyssa was going to college and working part time for Starbucks. Alyssa loved music concerts and although was old enough to travel to concerts on her own, her mom would always escort her. The two were inseparable and shared a strong bond.”
According to Riverfront Times, the campaign has raised $28,890 towards their goal of $100,000. The family says that the money will help pay for funeral arrangements.
”He’s going to be held accountable,” St. Louis Police Chief Robert Tracy said at a St. Louis Business Journal event. “He destroyed families, and killed two people.”
Monte is said to have posted a $200,000 bail bond and was released from police custody on Friday, February 16, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He has been charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter for each woman and armed criminal action.
