Cousins! Jhene Aiko has landed in some legal troubles following a recently issued suit accusing her of negligence and causing bodily harm in an alleged 2022 car accident!
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the claimed incident occurred in July 2022 at the corner of Ventura Boulevard and Hayvenhurst Avenue in Encino, California. A woman identified as Genelle Ligot says that the singer, “struck her” car from behind as she waited at a traffic light.
“[Ligot] was stopped at a traffic light when [Aiko] struck [her] from behind. Due to the negligent actions of [Aiko] while operating the motor vehicle, [Ligot] was injured in health, strength, and activity,” reads court documents.
Ligot says that since the incident occurred she has suffered from “wage loss, loss of use of property, hospital and medical expenses, general damage, property damage and loss of earning capacity.”
Reports read that Ligot is suing for damages while also demanding a trial including a jury. Within the forwarded suit, she claims that Jhene acted negligently and caused her multiple injuries which she says that she had to pay for out of her pocket.
It has been indicated how much the plaintiff is actually suing Jhene for at this time.
According to the Rap-Up, this isn’t the first time Jhene was involved in accident. Back in 2013 she shared with fans on Twitter (X) that she and her daughter Namiko were injured in a bad accident.
