Cousins, shocking footage has been released of the moment a Las Vegas judge was attacked as she handed a three-time felon his prison sentence!

According to reports from 8 News Now, the incident took place Wednesday morning around 11 AM in Clark County District Judge Mary Kay Holthus’ courtroom. Debora Redden, 30 was front and center as he awaited sentencing on a charge of attempted battery with substantial bodily harm.

Footage shows Debora run towards Judge Holthus and leap over the bench towards her. Though she had attempted to run away it appears that he was able to pull her hair and drag her backwards. Sources state several other people fought Debora to the ground in response to the attack.

Reports read that prior to the attack Debora’s attorney asked for his client to receive probation and that Judge Holthus declined his request and said, “I think it’s time he gets a taste of something else.”

On April 23, Debora is said to have “[threatened] to bust the kneecaps” of another man, “resulting in substantial bodily harm,” reads court documents obtained by 8 News Now.

The following month, a different judge ordered Debora to undergo a competency determination evaluation. He was then transferred to a state behavioral facility. Debora was found competent in October by another judge.

The 30-year-old had pleaded guilty in November and a bench warrant for his arrest was issued by Judge Holthusin in December after he missed a scheduled court appearance.

8 News Now reports that Debora was booked at Clark County jail regarding new charges of battery and battery on a protected person. One count of the battery-on-a-protected-person charge.

“Thank God the judge is okay,” Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said in an issued statement. “Thank God for the heroic efforts of those who came to her aid, especially her marshal and her law clerk. Without them, the situation would have been much worse as this defendant exhibited extremely violent behavior and I’m confident there will be consequences.”
