Cousins! An official update has been issued following a viral search for two young boys within the Harlem area of New York City!
As we previously reported 11 year old Alfa Barrie and 13 year old Garrett Warren were declared missing since Friday May 12th after they failed to return home from school. The citywide investigation for the two boys circulated throughout social media including their community as their families continued to search for them over the last week.
On Thursday morning Garrett’s body had been discovered within the Harlem River around 10AM near the Madison Avenue bridge. According to Pix 11 news medical examiner has determined that Garrett died due to accidental drowning.
Upon further investigation, Alfa’s body was also discovered in Hudson River within the 102nd area. His cause of death has not yet been determined as a medical examiner has stated that Alfa’s body will be inspected on Sunday.
Police officials state that it is unclear at this time on how both Garrett and Alfa’s ended up in the river.
