Cousins! Eddie Murphy was recently asked which dad is going to be digging in their pockets to pay for the possible wedding of his son Eric Murphy and Martin Lawrence daughter Jasmin Lawrence!
Eddie says there won’t be no Hollywood switch going on over on his side as he declares Martin will be paying for the wedding.
In recent conversation with ETalk Eddie says that Jasmin caught the bouquet of flowers at his daughter’s wedding. Y’all know how the traditional saying goes, whomever catches a bouquet at a wedding as the bride tosses it in the air towards attendees, is next in line.
“My daughter just got married, and I had to pay — really had to pay,” he said,. “You have to do the same, Martin.”
“Don’t try to switch it up — don’t try to change no s—, do no Hollywood switch. You’re paying for the wedding. If it goes down, Martin is paying,” he warned, adding with a laugh, “And the wedding better be wonderful.”
As we previously reported , Martin’s eldest daughter Jasmin and Eddie’s eldest Eric went public with their union on social media back in 2021. In an interview with InTouch Weekly the couple revealed that they weren’t introduced through their dads that have been friends for years, but instead bonded over similar backgrounds growing up as kids in Hollywood.
“It wasn’t even our dads, and they’ve done two movies together, they’re friends,”
Martin also joked within a previous interview that it is tradition for the father of the bride to pay for the wedding. However he says he’s not against the option of Eddie wanting to switch things up.
