Cousins! An investigation is underway after a Florida man is said to have downed an entire cup of bleach in a courtroom after he was found guilty of an armed robbery incident from 2018!
According to the New York Post, Jermaine Bell has been in police custody for the last few years after being convicted for a December 2018 robbery, where he pulled a firearm on employees at Millennium Engine Plating. He is said to have dressed up as a courier to commit the act.
Reports read that Jermaine was seen drinking a cup of bleach within an all white disposable cup as the jury read their verdict. He was then approached by an officer with a trash can advising him to spit up the liquid. However the 38 year old to continued to drink from the cup and then sat down.
It has been stated Jermaine immediately felt sick afterwards and was ultimately removed from the courtroom then transferred to a hospital for medical treatment.
Jermaine is currently in stable condition despite fully digesting the cleaning solution. However his family has issued concerns and expected inquires wondering how did he obtain a cup full of bleach to consume within the courtroom in the first place.
“I see him drinking something that’s not right,” said distant relatives and Reverend Jerome Starling, to local news.“His attorneys are letting him drink it. Corrections letting him drink it. All of a sudden I see him collapse. And I said how could this happen.”
The family is demanding accountability be taken for what occurred.
Jermaine’s cousin is said to have recorded the entire thing as she stepped in to save him.. “I was the only one like that jumped up and tried to get him help,” she said. “[It’s] very emotional for the whole family. We thought we were going to lose Jermaine that day.”
At this time Miami-Dade County Corrections and Miami-Dade Police have confirmed that a complete investigation is underway into the disturbing turn of events
