The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is facing a lawsuit involving a “Grey’s Anatomy” crew member and allegations of racial profiling while working!

Ernest Simon Jr., a driver for “Grey’s Anatomy,” is accusing the LAPD of racial profiling after officers pulled him over, only to find out he’s the wrong guy.

According to TMZ, Simon was pulled over after dropping off crew members near a Tarzana, CA set in March 2021. In the lawsuit filed, Simon says, officers told him an automated license plate reader linked his vehicle to a stolen BMW sedan. At the time, Simon was driving a Ford rented by Disney.

Despite the parking lot attendant, where he was pulled over, telling officers Simon was a part of the “Grey’s” crew, it did little to no effect. The driver laid face down on the asphalt as officers had guns drawn, as they called for back-up.

Other crew members tried explaining to officers that they had the wrong guy, but in the lawsuit, Simon says, officers responded with “Get out of the line of fire.”

As Simon lay on the ground, the lawsuit says the scene lasted 30 minutes. But it ended when a White male co-worker reiterated to officers they had the wrong guy. What makes it worse– it was the same story told by a Black male co-worker, yet cops did not listen.

Simon is now suing The LAPD and the city of Los Angeles for $20 million, claiming racial profiling, violating his 4th amendment rights, and using excessive force.

Sometimes we can’t even work in peace. I hope Simon gets every penny!
