We are currently witnessing a monumental era of Hip Hop where female artists throughout the world are collectively taking center stage on their terms to shake the table while demanding folks to listen up and pay attention!

Rising NYC artist Drama Queen falls right in line with fellow Rap Queens of today’s music industry as she is effortlessly creating a new lane with a fresh sound that the game is truly missing.

Hailing high from the Hip Hop Mecca of New York Drama Queen is utilizing her talents to direct folks attention back to where the cultural sounds originally started from, The Bronx.

Drama Queen recalls her love for music dating all the way back to when she was a child, from writing songs for her friends to even forming a singing group in middle school and then a rap group in high-school.

“Since a kid I always wanted to be a singer and as I got older I wanted to do anything that had to do with music. From the very beginning i was the orchestra. As kids everyone was doing it for fun, but I ALWAYS HAD A PASSION FOR CREATING MUSIC SO I TOOK it SERIOUS”

Drama Queen recognizes her native Caribbean roots as she is working hard to find a way to blend her background of being born in Jamaica and growing up in New York City.

”I am still trying to figure that out, how to blend them both together but I think I kind of got it. I listen to a lot of old School reggae and often blend it with the music I am creating now.”

Her latest single drop derives from a direct remake of the classic single Girls Dem Sugar by Beenie Man featuring Mya.

With over 10,000+ YouTube views and counting Drama Queen’s mix ‘Boys Dem Sugar’ featuring Loopie Loon is a certified banger.

“ It has a Hip Hop feel but still brings that Reggae vibe.”

From punch lines, signature vocals and raw rhymes Drama Queen and Loopie Loon brought all the smoke in true NYC fashion.

Within her music and overall presence Drama Queen let’s it be known there is both power and value within being yourself.

”Be yourself! The person I am today I was never before, but I had to grow up and thats when i began to see things differently because it was beginning to affect me.”

She stands tall in her beliefs that women should be able to express themselves in all areas, despite the controversial picture society attempts to often paint of women being secure within their sexuality.

“ I love my skin. I love to show my skin. I am a sexual person that loves to express themselves and I’m going to continue to be true to me.”

Drama Queen pays homage to the blue print female artist of the world such as Missy Elliot and Lil Kim based off of their originality, influence and diversity.

“ Missy’s whole career is just pure versatilIty! From the way she stepped out the box since day one within music, fashion, production EVERYTHING. Lil Kim’s confidence is unmatched.”

She continues in saying that Nicki Minaj also serves as a Blue print female Hip Hop artist as the Queens, New York native upheld the genre of music down by herself for 10 years straight.

With an extensive resume of projects dating back over 5 to 7 years ago, Drama Queen’s work ethic and overall eye for quality over quantity shines through effortlessly.

I love all of the women out right now. Everyone is doing their thing and opening the doors for us all. That includes Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion and many more!”

She continues in recognizing the music industry and that the genre of Hip Hop is missing a level of fairness.

I just feel like when women do or say the same thing a male rapper / artist does there is always a different response from the PUBLIC. That’s one of THE things that need to change.”

Drama Queen reveals that during the pandemic she gained a deeper hunger for her passion and that creating music helped her to become distracted from the chaos of the world.

” When covid first hit and none of us had a real idea of what to expect I was home creating music everyday and dropping stuff on social media. Personally, my music helped to distract me from reality as my mother almost died from covid. I just wanted to be positive. I was at home alone thinking ‘ you know what let me just put out some stuff’. It was the only thing kind of keeping my mind right it was a distraction in a good way.”

Cousins; As we begin to rap up the remainder of 2021 and roll in to 2022 be on the look out for Drama Queen as she promises to drop more music, more content, more EVERYTHING!
