Kool & The Gang Co-Founder Dennis “Dee Tee”Thomas Passes Away At 70 Years In His Sleep!

Please join us in sending our deepest condolences to the family of legendary artist and musician Dennis Thomas also known as #DeeTee following the news of his passing over the weekend!

According to Rolling Stones , Dennis was discovered lifeless within the bedroom of his New Jersey home on Saturday.

“An original member of Kool & The Gang, Dennis was known as the quintessential cool cat in the group, loved for his hip clothes and hats, and his laid-back demeanor,” reads a forwarded statement from a Kool & the Gang’s spokesperson

“A huge personality while also an extremely private person, Dennis was the alto saxophone player, flutist, percussionist, as well as master of ceremonies at the band’s shows.”⁠

Sources have confirmed that there has been no cause of death ruled at this time.

Dennis’ career began as a young man when him alongside seven other teenagers from New Jersey created a music group under the name of the Jazziacs. The group later rebranded as Kool & The Gang for their debut album.

Dennis was the group’s saxophonist and stylist for over 50 years. Kool & The Gang surviving members are Ronald “Kool” Bell and drummer-keyboardist George Brown.⁠
