Lala Anthony Teams Up With McDonalds To Offer $500,000 In Scholarships To HBCU Students!

Calling all Historically Black College University students Lala Anthony and the folks over at McDonald’s are partnering up with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund to issue $500,000 in scholarships to HBCU students through the Black and Positively Golden Scholarship program initiative!

According to Blavity, incoming and currently enrolled HBCU students will be forwarded the opportunity to win up to $15,000 in scholarships.

Reports read that in 2020, the program previously issued a total of $15,000 each to numerous HBCU students. The year before that they gave away 6 individual scholarships. This year’s initiative has been established following the numerous impactful events that have awaken societal norms into noticing the value of HBCUs.

“As a person who went to an HBCU, I know the importance of education. I know the importance of HBCUs, where we can go to a college and experience things that are all for us, that represent who we are, and are representative of our culture. It’s so important,” says Lala.

As a Howard University Alumni herself, Lala worked on the college’s radio and television stations. She states her experiences helped her to be able to interact with diverse crowds naturally.
“I’m forever grateful for that and just wish that more people can have that same opportunity to experience what college does for you and how it changes you and prepares you for the real world,” she said
