Noir Nation, Los Angeles authorities have released a major update in the tragic case of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, confirming the 14-year-old was not pregnant at the time of her death.
According to PEOPLE, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced on Wednesday, July 29, that following further investigation, Celeste was not pregnant when she died in April 2025. Earlier this year, questions arose after the pregnancy section of her death certificate was amended from “No” to “Unknown.” Officials have now confirmed that the final determination is not pregnant.
As we previously reported, prosecutors have alleged that text messages recovered during the investigation show Celeste became pregnant in 2023. According to court testimony, she underwent an abortion in January 2024, when she was 13 years old.
During court proceedings held earlier this week, Los Angeles Detective Corey Farrell read portions of the alleged text exchange between Celeste and D4vd regarding the pregnancy. According to testimony, one message from Celeste stated, “Both of us aren’t able to take care of it.” Prosecutors allege D4vd responded by telling her she was “so much stronger than me” before asking whether the pregnancy was his. Detective Farrell testified that Celeste replied, “Of course it’s yours, David.”
The update comes as prosecutors continue building their case against singer D4vd, who is facing multiple felony charges in connection with Celeste’s death. Those charges include murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, and unlawful mutilation of human remains. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges, and the case remains ongoing.
As of now, D4vd remains in custody at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles. He is scheduled to be arraigned on August 31, and his case is expected to proceed to trial.
