The legendary animated children’s series of Rugrats is set to make a major comeback featuring all of the series beloved stars reprising their original roles and a making few new changes!

According to Yahoo News , mother to the dynamic duo twins Phil and Lil DeVille formally known as Mrs. Betty DeVille will appear in the new series as an openly gay single mom.

Betty will now be played by actress Natalie Morales. Sources have confirmed that the fictional character will serve as an example of important representation of diversity in children’s television.

“Anyone who watched the original show may have had an inkling Betty was a member of the alphabet mafia,” reads a forwarded statement from Morales.

“Betty is a single mom with her own business who has twins and still has time to hang out with her friends and her community, and I think it’s just so great because examples of living your life happily and healthily as an out queer person is just such a beacon for young queer people who may not have examples of that.”

It has been indicated that the entire series has had a 3D makeover and is already available for US streaming through Paramount+ services.
