Texas A&M University-Commerce Shooting Leaves 2 Sisters Dead!

#Cousins it is with an all extremely heavy heart that we inform you of the death of two Texas A&M University-Commerce students who have been identified as sisters!

According to Blavity, Deja Matt’s ,19 and Abbaney Matt’s, 20 remains were discovered within the Pride Rock residence hall area of the University on Monday. Sources have confirmed that Abbaney’s 2 year old son was also present during the shooting and was injured. He is currently in custody of his family at this time.

It has been indicated that Police officials were contacted early Monday morning after a student discovered a peculiar incident taking place through her dorm room wall.

Deja was an enrolled freshman student at TAMUC currently studying to obtain her bachelor’s degree in Public Health. It has been stated that Abbaney was not a student at the University.

Officials believe that the entire incident was organized but there has been no indication of if there is a suspect in custody at this time.

“This remains an active investigation with multiple law enforcement agencies assisting. We will continue to provide updates as they become available,” states the police within an official statement.
