UPDATE: Autopsy Complete in Ashlee Jenae Case Tanzanian; Authorities Reportedly Withholding Results and Body From Family!

The autopsy in the tragic death of influencer Ashlee Jenae has officially been complete; however the search for answers to devastating questions continue for her family!

Ashlee’s father, Harry Robinson told TMZ that he traveled to Washington, D.C. in a pushing fit the U.S. government to help establish communication with Tanzanian officials regarding his daughter’s case.

Sources have confirmed that Harry’s efforts led to contact and verification that the autopsy was finalized on Tuesday April 15th. Sadly, the family says they STILL have not received any results and that they’ve only been informed that the investigation remains ongoing.

It has also been indicated that Tanzanian officials have not released Ashlee’s body to her family.

A local Tanzanian outlet previously reported that records listed Ashlee’s “immediate cause of death” as cerebral hypoxia due to strangulation and suffocation. But those findings have NOT been publicly confirmed by authorities.

As previously reported, Ashlee, born Ashly Robinson, was discovered unresponsive inside a closet at a resort villa in Zanzibar, with a belt reportedly around her neck, reports, CBS News.

She had been celebrating her 31st birthday on a luxury vacation and had recently gotten engaged to her boyfriend of one year, Joseph McCann.

ABC News reports witnesses observed frequent arguments between the couple after checking in on April 4. Other hotel guests allegedly alerted staff to ongoing disturbances. On April 8, staff are said to had intervened and separated the couple. Just two to three hours later, Ashlee was found unconscious.

McCann initially claimed she died by suicide, an allegation her family has strongly and consistently rejected.

At this time, McCann is being questioned by authorities, and his passport is being held as the investigation continues. According to BBC he is being questioned just as a witness and has not been accused of any wrongdoing.

The family is also actively seeking access to hotel surveillance footage that could provide further clarity.
