Noir Nation, the people of Los Angeles are making sure Nipsey Hussle’s legacy continues to live on forever as the city gears up to rename the iconic Crenshaw and Slauson intersection in his honor.
As a salute to the late legend’s lasting impact, the historic corner will officially be known as “Nipsey Hussle Square.” A sign dedication ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, February 28 at 10 a.m., marking the formal unveiling of the new name at the very place where Nip built his vision from the ground up.
According to ABC News LA the ceremony will include members of his family, including his brother Blacc Sam — CEO of The Marathon brand — along with city leaders such as Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson, Councilmember Heather Hutt, and Assemblymember Isaac Bryan.
The area holds deep significance as both the site of The Marathon Clothing store and the surrounding plaza, which remains family-owned and now serves as a hub for the Neighborhood Nip Foundation. Though his life was tragically cut short in 2019, his blueprint for ownership, empowerment, and community investment continues to echo through the very streets that raised him.
